According to the left and the MSM, Barack Hussein Obama bears absolutely no responsibility for any of his known associations, past or present.  His dying grandmother who raised him?  She`s just a typical white person who is afraid of black people.  His Aunti Zeituni from Kenya, who has been living in the country illegally and in poverty for over five years in Boston?  Wow! If she`s here illegally, how did she snag a public housing subsidy?  Well, Obama had absolutely no idea she was still here and he says all laws regarding her plight must be obeyed!  He hasn`t even seen her for two years or more.  He did write about her in his memoir, Dreams From My Father, and, yes, she did send his campaign $256!  We`ll send that right back to her!  And get real!  This is just another one of Karl Rove`s dirty campaign tricks!  No one will pay any attention to this 72 hours before the election!  Talk about desperation  tactics!

Reverend Wright and the racist bile and anti-Americanisms he spewed forth?  The Obamas never heard anything but hope and change from him for all those 20 years in the pews!    Tony Rezko, notorious slum lord, racketeer, money launderer, convicted felon and who also just happened to help the Obamas get a really good deal on their home plus an adjoining easement?  Obama already said that was a really boneheaded thing to do!  Besides, he doesn`t really know Rezko!   Pardone?

To this day, Bill Ayers  loves to sport a t-shirt emblazoned with a big red star.  He just happens to be a wasted and washed up domestic terrorist and charter member of the Weather Underground.  Remember the photo of Ayers in the NYT on September 11, 2001, standing on the Flag of the United States of America?  Remember, he said he was sorry he didn`t try to blow up more buildings?  Don`t forget his wife, the lovely Bernadine Dohrn.  Obama kicked off  his Illinois State Senate run in their living room!  The Ayers recently rediscovered  tome, Prairie Fire, comes complete with a personal dedication to Sirhan Sirhan, the assassin of Robert F. Kennedy.  Obama has always thought Ayers was a rehabilitated domestic terrorist!  This Ayers/Weather Underground thing happened when Obama was like, 8 years old.   Bobby Kennedy was gunned down in the prime of  his life when Barry was, like 7!  Anyway, Ayers is just a guy in their neighborhood!   So, they served on some boards together!  The Annenberg Foundation. You know, Walter Anneberg, Ronald Reagan`s friend?  Get a life!

Then we have Khalid Rashidi, Obama`s Palestinian pal.  Well, Obama has admitted he does know Rashidi, he has spoken to him, he`s a professor at Columbia University but Rashidi is not one of his many 3,000 and counting advisors, all experts in their own minds.  So what if there is a tape, that as it so happens, is being sequestered by the Los Angeles Times, in which Rashidi slams Israel and Obama praises him! Try this on!  John McCain`s own committee funded Rashidi`s Palestinian organization with $500,000!  These so-called associations are nothing but distractions!  Let`s get back to the real issues of hope and change.

None of these known liasions of Obama`s changes the core characters of who these individuals are or who Barack Hussein Obama really is.  It always comes down to character and judgement.  From his own telling history and the words from his own mouth, it is apparent Barack Obama is sorely lacking in both.

It`s No Joke!

Less than ten days from the election, the impending regime of Barack Hussein Obama has once again shown its true motives.  Last week, Barbara West, WFTV, in Florida, interviewed Joe the Senator Biden, the other half of the Nobama-No-Biden-Travelling-Tell-Them- What-They-Want-To-Hear Tour.  Ms. West had the audacity of truth, justice and the American way to ask Senator Biden about Obama`s role with ACORN.  She continued by asking  if Obama`s economic policies and plans are, in fact, Marxist, citing Joe the Plumber and Obama`s own words of "spreading the wealth around".  Ms. West quoted Karl Marx, "from each according to his abiltiies, to each according to his needs."  She hit the Triple Whammy with her inquiry of what exactly Joe the Senator meant when he had remarked that Obama will be tested by a major foreign policy challenge in six months or less.  Throughtout the interview, Joe the Senator proved himself true to form and worthy of the office of Vice President.  He scoffed at her, asked her who was writing the questions for her, and merrily tap danced his way out of any straight answers.  The aftermath?  The Obama campaign has cancelled a scheduled interview with Joe the Senator`s wife, Jill Biden, and all further interviews with the campaign on the network.  We can now ask, "What would Obama do with real power?"

The outrageous and presumptious behaviors of those involved in the Obama-Biden campaign are beyond parallel.  With the MSM hiding  all real truth about Obama and his associations, they have been complicit in what will become the most disastrous administration in the history of our republic should Obama prevail.  More than a few pundits remark ad nauseum that his campaign has been run flawlessly and perfectly.  Anyone can be flawless and perfect in public life if the message is controlled.  Refusing to answer questions and boycotting a network because the questions were aggressive before election day, speaks volumes of both Obama and Biden.  Just as Joe the Plumber changed the narrative regarding the Obama tax plan, Barbara West did all of us a great service.  We must watch to see what wrath Obama and his Blue-Shirts will do to change the message and make it all about Ms. West.  Perhaps these clarifying messages will be the ones to resonate with the people to defeat Barack Hussein Obama on November 4.

Spreading the Wealth, Obama Style

There can be no doubt that Barack Hussein Obama is a phenomenon.  Here we have a young, good looking, articulate and clean, black man who brought the Clinton Dynasty to its knees and hip-hopped away with the Democratic nomination for President just by being tethered to his teleprompter.  No offense, now!  Barry HO listens to rap on his Ipod!  Chill!  Oh, and his additional thanks go out to all those Democrat Super Delegates who gave him the final nod when so many of their primary voters, over 18,000,000 in this go-round, got it wrong.

Obama is an actor, a character actor and he can play the part any way you want!   (Paraphrased dialogue from the movie, "Tootsie".)  This Obamacat is a magnet for money!  In these very troubled economic times, during the month of September when fuel prices were near $4 a gallon, Barack Obama and his Omoney machine have raised over $150 million dollars!  Much of that money came from small donors who gave less than $200, for a grand total of over One Hundred Fifty Million Dollars!!  That`s a lot of champagne, lobster and Iranian caviar at the Waldorf Astoria, doncha know?  Economic sanctions against Iran must have been especially lifted just so Michelle could serve the right menu.  Meow!   Could also be a lot of Tshirts sold in the Gaza strip on Obama`s behalf.   Now who would do that?  And small donors names are, conveniently, not subject to release, especially if they are sponsored by Jorge Soros.

Here`s the drill, baby, drill.  Barry  should stay on the campaign trail in perpetuity.  He can continue to raise amazing amounts of cash and start spreading it out among his many Obamanuts!   Free cheese, TVs and CDs keep a lot of simple folk happy.  No questions need  be asked about how he does it.  Just keep it coming in and going out.  The Obama MSM, already on the band wagon, would cherish the opportunity to continue to spread his message:  With Robama in the Hood, Put Your Hand Out!

Barack Obama Does Not Control This Message

"New York Times Magazine" has released a very interesting portion of an interview with Barack Hussein Obama which has not garnered much attention.  In it, Obama laments that if it were not for Fox News, he would be up at least three more points in the polls. He goes on to complain that by the way he has been portrayed on Fox News, as an effete, latte sipping, Volvo-driving elitist, he wouldn`t vote for himself either.  During the debate Wednesday,  Obama cited "even Fox News" as proving he had never voted to tax people making over $42,000.  At the Alfred E. Smith Charity dinner, during his very clever monologue, Obama mentioned Fox News more than once, asking if the network is, in fact, considered part of the media.    It could make one wonder if Rupert, Roger and Co. should think about moving their network offshore.

To be fair, Barack Obama did do interviews with Chris Wallace and Bill O`Reilly on Fox.  The highlight of the O`Reilly appearance was when Bill asked how could Obama say he had not heard the hateful sermons of Rev. Wright when the DVDs were sold in the lobby.  Obama replied, "What can I tell you?"   No follow-up by the No-Spin Zone.  As a regular viewer of Fox,  I have never heard Obama referred to as an effete, latte sipping, Volvo-driving elitist.  He certainly knows himself very well.   These whiny, spineless little jabs at Fox News make Obama look very whiny, spineless and little.  And maybe just a tad too sensitive and too touchy to be President.

The Obama MSM frenzy this week is now out to diminish and destroy an American citizen, Joe Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber, for asking Obama a question on a rope line.  Obama, himself, sought Joe out!  Then Obama slipped and spoke the truth. As a successful business owner, Joe would, indeed, be sharing his wealth, the money Joe earned, with others less "fortunate".  Going to have to spread it around!  Since then, the Obama MSM has looked into all the personal details of Joe`s life, including his divorce papers and his financial affairs.  They discovered he`s not a licensed plumber!  And his name is not really Joe!  (His middle name is Joe.)   He wants to buy a business and he only asked a simple question!  He believes in something called the American Dream!   Barack Hussein Obama later belittled him in Rhode Island in a campaign stump speech.  Joe the Senator called Joe the Plumber a liar on national television.   This is the dynamic duo who want to lead our nation and all of us with something they call hope and change. 

Team Sarah is a website that celebrates Sarah Palin.  It has over 5,000 members.  A few nights ago, the chat room was deluged with the most vile, despicable comments directed at Sarah Palin, her children and then to the other members in the chat room.  Many of the Team Sarah posters fought valiently to post against this virulent spam.  Is this only the beginning of attempts to shut down conservative websites? 

Barack Hussein Obama is not a uniter.  He is out for himself only and for the power of a Socialist/Marxist agenda would bring.  He has not even been elected yet and he has succeeded in controlling the message from the MSM.   Some Harvard professor came out recently that George Bush should step down on November 5 to let Barack begin to rule, uh, govern.  Madame and Harry are salivating at their expected  majorities and have laid out new plans for an additional  $300 billion stimulous package to include expanded unemployment benefits and food stamps.  

No one knows what the future will bring.  But many times the harbinger of the future has been right there in front of us.  We must hold on to our personal freedoms, our right to speak freely and to protest our government without fear.   Indeed, we may not know what we have had until we lose it.  God bless America!

Deliverance

The word is out in the Left and the Main Stream Media.  The election is moot.  The chickens have come home to roost.  Barack Hussein Obama, who has been President in his own mind since Pantsuit`s release of her delegates, doesn`t need to stand in a stinkin election!  It`s over!  He has been annointed by the polls, the pundits and the elite intelligentsia.  It is his time!  He is the first bi-racial candidate in the history of the United States!  He deserves it!  Move out of the way, John McCain, you`re history! 

The arrogance of Barack Hussein Obama and his followers is unparalleled.  Here is a young man who has done nothing but write two autobiographies about himself and run for political office.  He is a glad hander.  He is everyone`s best friend until that friend isn`t useful anymore.  Loyalty and integrity are not his strong suits.  Barack Hussein Obama could be perfectly cast as the lead in The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde.  He is all smoke and mirrors and not at all who he seems to be.  He as a master of "Control the Message".  He has sent his Truth Police into Missouri in an attempt to quash free speech.  Despite a strong statement of outrage from Governor Matt Blunt, the incidents received little to no coverage in the MSM.  His following is almost cult like.  Teachers have been suspended for "attempted indoctrination" of Obamania in their classrooms.  Last week, a teacher in California caused outrage, at least on the Right,  when she taught  a children`s choir to sing the praises of Obama of hope and change he would bring.  As POTUS, Barack Hussein Obama`s relentless quest for power and the liberal/progressive agenda could eventually find Conservatives and Republicans wearing little yellow Cs and Rs on our clothing, the censorship of  Conservative blogs and the return of the Fairness Doctrine.

The global economy is on the brink of imploding.  The United States is fighting two wars.  Terrorists are among us and are planning to kill us and are just waiting for the right moment.  Public schools are a travesty.  The media is unbelievable.  Having health care for everyone is a worthy goal but without national security, it won`t mean squat.  The Los Angeles Times ran an editorial on Sunday extolling the virtues of Bob Barr.  The anti-McCainiacs are orgasmic and unbelievably blind to the fact that this is just another ploy by the MSM to siphon votes from John McCain to elect Barack Hussein Obama as President of the United States of America. 

Much can happen in four weeks.  Remember September 10, 2001.   We must not buy into the hype that Barack Hussein Obama deserves to be President because he is Bi-Racial and we all are guilty because we are white.  We are not guilty.  We have the freedom to choose our leaders.  For a candidate who claimed he was a uniter and there are no red or blue states only purple, Barack Hussein Obama has not proven himself to be a leader.  He has proved himself to be a fraud.

"What Fresh Hell Is This?"

Thank you, Dorothy Parker, for saying those immortal words that convey so much and that will live forever among the greatest one-liners of all time.  This evening, my husband and I watched an interview on the Bloomberg Channel which featured Christopher Buckley, most famously known for being the son of William and Pat Buckley.  The interview  focused primarily on a new book Christopher has written which is about to be published. The main character happens to be a woman from Texas who is being considered for the Supreme Court (not Harriet Miers).  In a fortunate turn of timely events, she also shares many of the same attributes as Governor Sarah Palin.

Eventually, the interview turned to presidential politics.  The economy, the many glaring failures of the Bush Administration and the flailing of the McCain campaign were bantered about.  We watched with interest because there can be no doubt that physically, Christopher is the mirror image of his father!  Uncanny resemblence, even as far as his mannerisms.  Then for his final crescendo, Christopher Buckley added that it is Obama`s time to be President and that he may even vote for him!  Well, you could have knocked us over with a feather! 

"The apple doesn`t fall too far from the tree."  Maybe not so much under these circumstances.  The Conservative ideals that William F. Buckley put into the founding of his once very respected magazine,  "The National Review" may be slipping a bit. As is his perrogative, Christopher Buckley is  considering to vote for an upstart, one-term, narcissistic US Senator with shady associations, a Marxist Socialist ideology and no record of any achievements -- only because it is "his time".  

Not long ago, Ann Coulter referred to "The National Review"  as "increasingly irrevelant."  She undoubtedly has a point.

Gwen Ifell, Affirmative Action Moderator

Tomorrow, Thursday evening,  the world was to have been awaiting to see the PBS journalist, Gwen Ifell, attempt to puncture, deflate, demoralize, destroy, throw gasoline on, set on fire, drive over, back up and drive over again, Governor Sarah Palin for daring to appear at the podium as a candidate for Vice President on the Republican ticket.  However, Ms. Ifell checked her own journalistic principles and dubious ethics when upon her selection as monitor, she neglected to inform the Commission for Presidential Debates that she has penned a tome entitled, Politics and Race in The Age of Barack Obama, to be released on Inaugeration Day 2009.  Must have just slipped Ms. Ifell`s mind until now and she was only counting her chickens before they came home to roost.  What an inconvenient truth for her!

The game has suddenly changed.  Will there be any consequences for Ms. Ifill?  Can she be an objective and fair journalist interrogating Governor Palin?  Will anyone in the media subject Ms. Ifill`s moderation of the VP debate with any objectivity? It could be said that any professional who committed such an ethical lapse of judgement would stand down if only to save her stellar reputation . Even considering this little drama of her compromised journalistic principles, Gwen will still want the limelight above anything else.  As they say, truth will out.  Tune in tomorrow.

Update:  Gwen Ifill was a professional this evening, 10/2/08.  I stand by my previous remarks, however.

Mr. Smarmy and His Cavalry of Fools

The next catch phrase:  Got Phone?  The undeniable and blatant arrogance of  Barack Hussein Obama is stunning.   The greatest global financial meltdown in the history of the world is happening now and Obama is content to just phone it in.   His most important goal of "control the message" has his media couriers scurrying to showcase him in the most flattering way and he basks in the seemingly unending glory of his being. 

Even though this young man has been on a perpetual campaign for POTUS since his birth, Obama has shown he can run for President and be at the forefront of this fiscal crisis!  He multi-tasks! He phones! It`s what he does!  He has a staff -- of thousands!  But above all, he still needs a lot of money for this relentless quest, which at a burn rate of approximately $3 million a day, is far more important to him than appearing presidential or solemn. It would never occur to Obama to suspend his campaign for three or four days out of respect for the gravity of this crisis and the economic threats to the middle class.  No, because he is so desperate for money!  Part of his great foresight was to eschew campaign financing. He has been such a fund raising machine, has reaped millions of dollars from small donors via internet and now it is so unfair!   Now he has to ask his supporters to write him  checks from their accounts preferrably before their banks fold and those checks don`t clear.  This blatantly selfish young man is focused on becoming the next Commander in Chief and cares not how he gets to his goal.

After watching Madame Speaker spit and sputter through her press conference Sunday afternoon, you cannot help but wonder who lets her out everyday.  She is an absolute disgrace to Congress.  Yesterday, she insulted the entire Republican party by calling the GOP unpatriotic even though she needs their votes on this travesty.  She was surrounded by Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and the Rat of the Senate, Harry Reid.  These people are Obama`s crew.  Earlier, Obama appeared on a Sunday morning talkshow and played at being presidential and in control.  He took absolute credit for this Trillion Dollar bailout that will change the life of every American for years to come.  He was adamant that all his provisions protecting Main Street were included and was assured by phone, they were.

All of this shameless politicizing on the part of the Democrats to protect their Affirmative Action candidate, reminds me of the great movie, "The Longest Day".  Upon  the invasion of the Allies on the shores of Normandy, the German generals were in a turmoil.  It was early in the morning and they were afraid to wake Adolph.  Paraphrasing here, but one general uttered, "The Allies have invaded Normandy and the Furher sleeps."  Brilliant movie dialogue that may just be the catch phrase of an Obama administration.

Obama -- Man for Himself

This endless quest of Barack Hussein Obama for the presidency will soon come to an end, in either victory or defeat.  From a childhood essay in which he expressed the dream of over a million little boys (and girls!) to one day attain the highest office in the land, President of the United States, he studied hard and succeeded by his own merits.  Attendance at Columbia University, Harvard Law and a short stint as a Civil Rights attorney to Community Organizer, Obama parlayed his gifts of natural charm and perseverence to a seat in the State Senate of Illinois.  As a State Senator, Barack Hussein Obama voted present over 100 times.  At the 2004 Democratic National Convention, Barack Obama and his teleprompter, gave a keynote speech, knocked the socks off the attendees and stole the rug right out from under John Kerry.  He won his own election as a United States Senator from Illinois in 2004 basically  running by himself.

The Democratic Party, in their never-ending soap opera of defeating the Clintons at all costs, was going to any lengths to deny Hillary Clinton the nomination.  Teddy Kennedy picked up the the mantle of his own brother, John F. Kennedy and annointed Barack Obama as the new savior of the Democratic Party.  The game suddenly changed big time.  Because the nominating process of the Democratic Party is inclusive and fair, after each primary and caucus, the delegates are proportioned out.  (Note to Howard Dean or your soon-to-be replacement:  Try winner take all next time!)  "Super Delegates" then came into play and although Hillary Clinton won all the large states and garnered over 18,000,000 votes, she lacked enough Super Delegates and for the good of the party and unification, the nod was given to Barack Hussein Obama.  (As an aside, this is the party that has a major problem with the Electoral College.) 

Barack Obama appears to be learned and articulate.  However, he does read his speeches from a teleprompter and has speech writers!  To some ears, he yells a lot and speaks in a preacher`s cadence.  Off the cuff, he gets confused and acts, well,  human!   He seems to enjoy campaigning and being the nominee very much!  His salary from the Senate and all those other "Senator perks" keep coming in.  Barack has his own staff of hundreds and  hundreds of campaign headquarters across the country with thousands of volunteers.  People send his campaign money all the time and Hollywood heavies are knocking themselves out to support him.  He has a fawning media. He has never had to account for his many "lost years" or to answer any hard questions about his policies or lack thereof. Many of his associates have disappeared from the public eye or have gone underground.  Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid take his calls.  He has a motorcade and Secret Service Protection to sweep the area.  He enjoys first class hotel suites and good food.  He has a campaign plane and his own Presidential Seal and recently, a Commemorative Coin!  Barack Hussein Obama is having the time of his life.

That old warhorse, that Braveheart, Senator John Sydney McCain, has stopped campaigning and is returning to Washington to find out what exactly is inside the Trillion Dollar Bailout/Rescue package.  He respectfully suggested that Senator Obama join him and suspend the campaign and debate until a responsible solution for the American taxpayer is resolved  Obama said he can multi-task and still campaign, and wanted to continue with the debate on Friday evening.  John McCain wants to solve the problem, to learn and to know what is being proposed and what exactly is in that bailout package.  All of the answers and solutions will be paid for on the back of the American taxpayers and JMac wants to be there.  Barry just wants to phone it in and continue basking in the glory of his moment.

Gotta say it:  McCain looks better all the time. 

(President George Bush did telephone both John McCain and Barack Obama early Wednesday evening.  Both will be in Washington on Thursday.)

The End of the American Dream

Poof!   That was fast and far too easy by half.  Now we see it, now we don`t.  The future of capitalism, exceptionalism, entrepreneurship and the work ethic have taken that long dark ride down the memory hole of what used to be the American Dream.

Most of us come from the middle class or "working class".  Many of us had after school jobs to earn the money for those little extras Mom and Dad wouldn`t or couldn`t spring for.  The majority of us developed an appreciation for the value of hard work and saving the money to buy that new car, stereo or wool coat with our very own money.  What a tremendous feeling of accomplishment and self worth it was to be able to plop down the cold hard cash that we had earned ourselves for that very special item we had wanted so much.  Our parents hammered into us that hard work, careful budgeting and good financial choices would reap great rewards and personal satisfaction to ensure our bright futures. 

The majority of Americans pay their mortgages on time.  Their property taxes are paid when due.  They have never been late on their utilities.  They could have two cars for which they make the payments regularly and their insurance is always current.  They have one Visa card they may use for airline tickets or a special extravagance.  There is usually just a small balance outstanding.  They contribute to  their 401Ks and  watch the market with half an eye open.  There could be two or three TVs in the house but a couple are really old and the main one is in the family room along with the one computer.  Computer time is strictly limited for the offspring to one hour a day only.  The kids all do chores around the house.  The older ones may work outside the home by babysitting, waiting tables, flipping burgers, washing cars or mowing lawns.  The older kids may have cell phones but they bought the phones themselves and are responsible for their monthly share of the plan and so they must budget their money (and text-messaging) accordingly.  Sounds like an All-American family, working and striving to build the values for the American Dream and a bright future.

Slam!  That`s all over.  Now it is time to rescue the economy of the United States!  The Most Powerful Nation in the World is on the  brink of diaster not seen since the last one.  Now we are going to bail out the most famous and used-to-be-revered  names in banking and brokerage (remember not too long ago, when secretaries at some Wall Street firms received $50,000 for Christmas bonuses?).   And nobody has asked us if we want to pay!   They are telling us we have to pay!  The body politic, our Treasury Department , the Federal Reserve and the esteemed Congress are mandating we must pay close to One Trillion Dollars to save our economy  -- which also includes those very bright souls who didn`t read their contracts and bought homes on an interest only mortgage and now have $4,000 a month house payments; those who used their home equity as ATM cards, those who have defaulted on their credit cards and the coups de etat, the Big Three auto industry. 

Is this what we have worked for?  Some of us are retired and are on pensions.  Many are still working and are a long way from retiring, continually striving to make  a comfortable daily life for their families and to eventually enjoy the fruits of their labors by carefully planning for their future.  So here we are!  How much more can we accept?  There is a lot of blame to go around starting way back with LBJ and the Great Society.  It is becoming increasing clear that to some we have not done enough.  To some, we are so fortunate that it is patriotic, fair and down-right neighborly to pay and to give more to those who have less and who have never worked a day in their lives.  Do we really  have to pay  because it`s expected?  What if we don`t want to pay?  Do we have a choice?  Who is speaking for us?  And who is listening? 

Vladimir Putin is smiling.  Election Day is November 4.

Sarah`s Gift

Women are jealous of each other.  It has been that way since the dawn of time.  There was a brief period after the advent of the Pill and the publications of  The Female Eunuch, (Germaine Greer) and The Feminine Mystique (Betty Friedan), when millions of women united, burned their bras, joined hands and marched in lockstep for the Sisterhood!   Women were equal at last in a Man`s World!  Women were encouraged to pursue careers with the mantra they could compete with any man for any job!  Many very qualified women have gone on to become airline pilots, engineers, construction workers, firemen (persons!).  Some were elected to political office such as small town mayors, Governors of states, Congressional Representatives and Senators.  These women have duly earned our respect and admiration. 

None of these advancements for equality have come without a price.  Chivalry first began its slow decline and is now almost non-existent today.  Men were at a loss as to what to do even when it was something as simple as standing up when a woman entered a room or opening a door for her as she left it.  (Yes, men used to do those things!)  While equal rights for women have leveled the playing field in social situations, such as who calls whom to ask for the date and splitting the dinner check, it has also caused undue criticism for some very exceptional women who do not fit the image of what is the definition of a "true feminist" today. 

An excellent example of this conundrum is the current Republican nominee for Vice President of the United States, Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska.  The vitriolic media firestorm that has greeted her and her family has been unprecedented and shameful.   Her life story and resume read like that of the All American Girl and would make an excellent movie, except that so far, Hollywood shuns her.  She has the proven record of being a rebel and a fighter for her beliefs and for the good of the people of Alaska.   Her rise from the PTA to Mayor to Governor did not happen because she is a former beauty queen or due to her political connections (nepotism).  She proved her exceptionalism and did it all on her own.  Governor Palin has shown herself to be up to the task time and time again.  Yet she and her family have been vilified and pilloried in the media beyond imagination.  It is doubtful that any woman, feminist or not, could stand up to the merciless scrutiny of the press coverage she has endured and continue with the day to day business of  being a woman and remaining genuine, strong and true to herself.

The hysterical rantings and ravings from female columnists, comedians and surrogates for the Democratic party have attempted to belittle, besmirch and insult this woman who stands head and shoulders above all of them in every regard.  The venom they spew in their acerbic columns and obscene comedy routines reminds one of the old saw, "Do you kiss your child with that mouth?"  Sarah Palin is a woman whose very aura exudes love , warmth and authenticity; the likes of which they who criticize her  with so much abandonment and hatred will never have the opportunity to experience themselves.  Their catty comments only reinforce the fact they are left wanting in their own feminity and womanliness.  Sarah Palin could be the first female Vice President of the United States in history!  All women everywhere should be celebrating and rallying to her.  So why aren`t they?   The only feasible answer could be that Governor Sarah Palin is pro-Life.

Parallel Universes

One thing is becoming absolutely clear.  On November 5, fully half of the populace of the USA will be disappointed, dismayed, deranged or even down-right angry by the outcome of the 2008 Presidential Election.  For everyone to come together to rally around the newly minted President will be virtually impossible.   Many will look back on Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS) and the last eight years of the his presidency with faded but fond memories of what will become to be considered as the last civil discourse in the political arena. 

Should Barack Hussein Obama become No. 44, the left will gloat with unmitigated delight and the MSM will celebrate his every utterance and extol each of his thoughtful pauses between his ahs, uhs and ums.  Conservatives will be crestfallen and mourn before getting back to the business of being Conservatives again.  Talk Radio and right-leaning blogs will console and try to energize the dispirited by centering on the 2010 Congressional elections and the importance nominating strong Conservatives with the focus of getting out the vote to actually elect them.  Instead of a comprehensive and workable energy policy for the American people, the Fairness Doctrine will be in the forefront of legislation in a Democratic led Congress along with the prosecution of George Bush and Dick Cheney for war crimes.     

The election of John Sydney McCain as POTUS will be challenged by the left with allegations that the fix was in.  Charges of racism will ring from coast to coast.  Anarchy could be threatened and the National Guard put on alert  -- just in case.  Conservatives will be thankful the Obama bullet was dodged but will obsess that McCain may lean across the aisle one time too many to the Dems in order to appear inclusive and fair as the leader of all Americans.   The MSM will eschew his honest attempts at bipartisanship and call him old and out of touch.  Border security will be the prevailing issue on Talk Radio and in the blogs.

The ideologies of these two candidates are polar opposites and the country is more divided now than ever.  Since the days of the hanging chads and the Supreme Court decision awarding George Bush the decisive victory in 2000, the progressives, the left and the MSM have been angry and out for revenge.  Their hate is driven by their ignorance and denial of the facts.  They have been running a relentless campaign to defeat all things Republican/Conservative.  It is foolhardy to believe that we will all be united as a people behind the man who will be our next Commander in Chief.

Much will happen between now and election day.  The final result could be a blowout or once again, decided by the Electoral College.  No one knows what will happen in the future.  Whatever the outcome, we will have to live with it.

Mangling Our Net Worth

Many pundits have attempted to pronounce what we, the American people, should believe.  I have a few beliefs of my own.  Sound bites, spin, innuendo, talking points and spew have bombarded us since before and after George W. Bush won reelection in 2004.  It begs the question:  What did the man do to incite such hatred and derision from those people?   I like George Bush!  So what if he`s been too loyal to his friends and trusted advisors?  To whom should he have turned?  This is not a puff piece on the eve of the exit of George.  Though we should all thank him for waging a relentless war against terror and keeping us safe since that fateful day.  Ever stop to think where we would be now if Al Gore had been President on September 11?  Undoubtedly he would be waiting for the un (there is no smaller letter case to justly depict that august body) to authorize sanctions.  Al Gore would have sighed a lot and demanded we get off the internet he had invented.  He would have mandated the burning of candles to save electricity, banned the consumption of BBQ ribs to avoid green house gasses and given fleeting comfort to us by saying the terrorists would go away if we just ignore them. 

The number one security issue for our nation is energy independence.  Nuclear plants, clean coal, off shore drilling and so many other resources and innovations would create many jobs and keep our money at home.   Shouldn`t Congress all be on the same page for US for once?   Consider the amounts of money that have been spent in this relentless, never-ending campaign season as more than obscene.  Example:  The talented and truly-qualified-in-her-own-mind Senator Hillary "Pantsuit" Rodham Clinton (she is using Rodham again) spent over 250 million dollars by Super Tuesday!  In less than one year!  Then she was broke!  She had to start raising money again!   Not to be outdone, we are daily oberving the plights and pitfalls of  the ever-changing and forever-will-be-changing Barack Hussein Obama who, to his credit and unparalled genius,  has raised millions on the internet and has spent it faster than a snowball melts in hell. 

Those of  you Conservatives, Independents and undecideds who are still on the fence or believe there is no way you could ever  vote for McCain, please consider the alternative universe with an Obama presidency and all it would bring. John McCain, the GOP candidate, was broke and ridiculed last summer.  He had been declared DOA by every pundit, pol. and blogger. He never gave up.  He took his message for Reform to everyday American people who make our country work.  He visited truck stops, diners and high school auditoriums.  He was once met by only one reporter at an airport.  He stood in front of a cheese display at a local market when he couldn`t get any responsible press coverage.  The MSM ridiculed him.  McCain put himself out in front of us, the American people, to tell us he will protect us and fight for us.  He`s lived the life, walked the walk and talked the talk.  He has chosen a capable, competent and thoroughly qualified running mate in Sarah Palin.  Rest easy, John McCain won`t spend our last red cent and then come back for more.  He will never surrender to our enemies.  He will always put our Country First! -- McCain-Palin 2008! --

Ouch! Technology Bites!

Somehow, someway, while perusing my TH dashboard earlier today, I accidently hit "delete" and erased what had been my current treatise, "A Warrior`s Brave Heart" from the blog roll.   The most perceptive among you will glean that the post was most complimentary to the "Warrior`s"  (John McCain) choice of his "Brave Heart" (Sarah Palin) as his running mate.  Good stuff to be sure but still my bad, and the question remains:  Am I qualified to blog?  Granted, I am not running for higher office but since when do experience and qualifications really matter when it comes to politics?

The unprecedented and vile attacks upon the Palin family including their four-month old infant son were despicable.  Last Wednesday evening, Governor Palin  walked out onto the stage and delivered a powerful address to the RNC and the nation with the poise and confidence of a natural leader.  She showed her mettle, tremendous strength of character and ready wit.  Sarah Palin is a capable, charming, and feminine woman.  No matter what you think of John McCain, his choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate was inspired.

Nevertheless, it is mindboggling that Barack Hussein Obama continues to get a pass by the media based solely on the fact that he can read a teleprompter.  Watching and listening to the Democratic strategists and pundits, the incredible spin that is used to draw contrast between Governor Palin and Senator Obama would be laughable if the matters at hand were not so serious.  Nothing has been off limits when it comes to the probing questioning of Sarah Palin.  There is an entire litany of questions, issues and concerns about the Democratic top of the ticket that are begging to be addressed but probably won`t be in our lifetime.

For all the frustration the MSM and cable news have caused before this election, imagine the swill they will be serving should Barack Obama be elected as President.  As an appetizer, just think back to LBJ`s Great Society and the generations of welfare that followed.  Bill O`Reilly has a column on TH right now that encapsulates the interview he had with Obama.  The last line reads, "God help him."  Should Obama prevail, the line will form at the rear and it will scream, "God help us all".

From Exhaustion to Elation

For all the hyperbole of the Democratic Convention last week, it was a most exhausting experience for me.  To be fair, the Clinton dramas did a lot to liven it up.  They played the media and the message like a string quartet.  On Tuesday night, Pantsuit standing there, stoic, released her supporters with pleas to them to put the Party first and rally round Obama.  The floor vote which followed was anticlimatic and a let down.  Billy Jeff did what he had to do and sucked all the air out of the room.  It is still amazing to watch how he continues to get a way with whatever it is he does.  The check from the Obama camp must have cleared.  Joe Biden gave his speel and was then surprised to find the top of the ticket on stage with him after his lone, fleeting moment in the spotlight.  Joe Biden spoke?

Thursday, finally!  Al Gore turned up but he did not get a hearing in our home.   Special thanks for the person who invented the Mute button.  At the risk of repetition, Gore is a blowhard and sore loser who has ridden the wave of Global Warming to earn a very large fortune.  Made possible by Capitalism?  Also the cause of out of control food and energy prices because everyone must now ride the green machine.  ENOUGH!  Barack Hussein Obama took the stage to the cheers of 85,000 hot, sweaty, dehydrated followers.  What a happening!  Many people believe he is the greatest orator of our time.  To my ear,  he speaks in preacher`s cadence and yells a lot.  He gave the farm away more than once.  He called John McCain a coward for not going into Obama`s cave -- oops-- Osama`s cave and killing him with his bare hands.  He slammed McCain for not solving the energy crisis after being in the Senate for 28 years.  Fact Check!  Biden has been there for 35 years.  He then attacked JMac`s campaign slogan of  Country First.  To sum his speech up in one word:  Exhausting!

What a difference a day makes.  Friday morning was buzzing with the announcement of McCain`s running mate in Dayton, Ohio. The two or three odds-on-favorites were counted out early.  Then it was confirmed:  Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska!  John McCain took the stage to calls of McCain!  McCain!  True to form, he answered, "Thanks for reminding me!"  After his introduction, Governor Palin came to the podium and held the hall in the palm of her hand.  She told us about herself and her family.  She was very gracious to acknowledge the accomplishments of Geraldine Ferraro to be the first woman nominated for the office of Vice President.  She praised Hillary Clinton as a groundbreaking candidate for POTUS and the 18,000,000 cracks in the glass ceiling.  She asked for our votes.  It was an emotional and heartwarming experience.

She barely left the stage before the muckrakers had come out and attacked everything about her, even her teenage daughter.  To be expected, of course.  But this time, they may want to be careful.  They don`t call her husband the First Dude for nothing.  The Palins are a beautiful family.  Sarah Palin is very accomplished and she is truly a great asset to the ticket of John McCain.  She will provide great energy and insight.  As an added plus, there are also a couple of great rock songs about "Sarah".
